Because of our connection to Freudenberg-NOK, which supplies all major OE vehicle brands with original gaskets and seals, we offer the value of in-house engineering and unique experience in gasket design and manufacturing. However, due to signs of wear and imperfections in the engine, original parts in these situations may not fit properly or work as effectively in used applications due to these imperfections. Corteco engineers incorporate design improvements that provide better seal function in these situations.

The pictures below show two types of head gasket. The first picture shows the original design with only localized elastomer coating. This gasket may not seal as effectively in worn engines. The second picture shows an example of a fully coated Corteco design. The non-localized elastomer coating will provide better sealing in applications that have experienced wear and tear due to continual use.
